More than an e-Transfer
Personalizing Interac e-Transfers with emojis, GIFs, and videos!
In spring 2024, Interac acquired the exclusive Canadian rights to the Vouchr Platform. Discussions for this acquisition began 3+ years ago, marking a significant milestone for my team.
So what does this mean for the average e-transfer user? Soon, they'll have the ability to personalize their transfers with templates for every occasion.
As the lead UX designer, I advocate for user experience and ensure stakeholders understand the UX journey for both sending and receiving e-Transfers. Key contributions include:
Conducting design thinking workshops to empathize with users
Collaborating with the Vouchr team and financial institutions
Facilitating stakeholder buy-in
Improving the user experience and assisting UX Research
As the work is mostly under NDA, I’m unable to share visual details and exact information. However, my designs are on track to be implemented, promising a more engaging and personalized e-Transfer experience.

Launch with Meridian Bank
Currently in it’s early phase, this project is showing promising early results in user engagement and operational efficiency.
Meridian is proud to be the first credit union in Canada to launch Interac e-Transfer® Cards—an innovative new feature that brings personalization and creativity to everyday life moments.
